Ron Arad at Roundhouse

Visit the Curtain Call installation by Ron Arad at Roundhouse and take part in a month of interactive events at the architect's visually stunning, 360° creation.

Architectural work
Comprised of 5,600 silicon rods hung from an 18 metre diameter ring, the Curtain Call installation by Ron Arad at Roundhouse acts as a vast canvas for film screenings, live performances and interactive events. Every day, you can catch works by internationally acclaimed designers, artists, musicians and students from the Royal College of art at the installation.

Pay what you can
An architect and designer renowned for his innovative approach to form as well as his exploration of different materials, Ron Arad has enlisted some of his favourite artists to create bespoke works for Curtain Call. Better yet, there is no standard admission fee for the Ron Arad at Roundhouse installation: instead, you are invited to simply pay what you can on the door.

Daily loop
The programme of events at the Ron Arad at Roundhouse installation includes a daily rotation of work that runs for two hours until repeating. Contributors include David Shrigley, Mat Collishaw, Babis Alexiadis and Hussein Chalayan, as well as the artists Gabriel and Shira Klasmer, Ori Gersht and Christian Marclay.

Special events
In addition to the daily content loop, Curtain Call is also hosting a number of one off special events, including A Rude Oracle, a live interaction with the American author Jonathan Safran Foer on Monday 15th August. Film fans can also catch a very special screening of the early cinema classic The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, when Berlin based electronic outfit Innervisions perform a live score they've written to accompany the film.

More live music
Other live music events taking place during the Curtain Call season include a special performance by the London Contemporary Orchestra, as well as an intimate gig by Cat's Eyes, featuring The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan. There's also cello music from soloist Steen Isserlis, and a quirky Change the Record performance which sees designer Paul Cocksedge heating and moulding old LPs into vinyl speakers for smartphones.

Curtain Call by Ron Arad at Roundhouse is open from Tuesday 9th August - Monday 29th August 2011. There is no fixed ticket price for general admission and for many of the special events, with visitors invited to pay what they can on the day.
