With concerts taking place nearly every day, the Royal Albert Hall Christmas Festival is a chance to indulge in traditional carols, wonderful festive choral pieces and many more works of music that are fitting for this time of year.

Kicking off with a Royal Choral Society Christmas carol concert, the Royal Albert Hall Christmas festival shows continue with some delightful festive event sure to put you in the mood for the season of goodwill. The festival features special appearances by actor Dominic West and soprano Natasha Marsh, as well as a selection of much loved arias, operatic songs and Christmas carols.

The gala performances at the Royal Albert Hall Christmas festival include Classic Carols with the London Philharmonic Choir and London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BT charity Christmas concert hosted by Natasha Kaplinsky. There's also Christmas Singalongs for those that want to belt out their favourite festive songs.

Traditional festive music
Fans of classical music can also look forward to a special performance from Lesley Garrett, in which the popular soprano presents and evening of Bach, Schubert and Tchaikovsky with the London Chorus and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Another highlight of the Albert Hall's 2011 Christmas festival is the moment when 500 voices unite in harmony to perform Handel's timeless choral work, Messiah.

Concerts by candlelight
Finishing off the festival of Christmas music are three wonderful concerts that really capture the spirit of Christmas music in the amazing setting of the Royal Albert Hall. Hear works from Handel and Mozart in the evocative setting of candlelight. O Come All Ye Faithful, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and Once in Royal David's City are just some of the carols you will hear in this moving setting. With musicians in full 18th century period costume and voices from the choir that will make your spine tingle, this is a truly wonderful way to spend the last few days of advent.
