Royal British Legion St Georges Concert

Celebrate all things English with the Royal British Legion St Georges Concert. Held two days before the royal wedding, the concert is a must for patriotic Brits who weren’t lucky enough to receive an invitation to Westminster Abbey.

St Georges Day event
Now in its eighth year, the Royal British Legion St Georges Concert is growing in popularity. Run by the country’s most prominent armed forces charity, the Legion provides support for the nation’s army as well as leading the annual poppy appeal.

Timely concert
Along with a host of other events, the St Georges Concert is in part celebrating the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton. The wedding is one of the biggest events of the year and has become something of a national phenomenon.

Classical music
The concert is to feature an eclectic mixture of modern and classic works which include themes of love and marriage, in tribute to William and Kate. Among those performing will be the award winning St George’s choir as well as The Central Band of The Royal British Legion. The St Georges Concert will also include readings of poetry and prose by people including BAFTA nominated actress Anne Reid.

The Royal British Legion St Georges Concert will be held at St George’s Church, Hanover Square. It takes place from 7pm – 8.30pm, Wednesday 27th April 2011, with a champagne reception after at the nearby Lansdowne Club in Berkeley Square. Tickets for the concert cost £30.00, or you can pay £65.00 for both the concert and the champagne reception.
