Half marathon for charity
Raising money for five different charities, the Royal Parks half marathon is inviting runners to raise money on behalf of Asthama UK, the Blue Cross, National Deaf Childrens Society, Right to Play and UNICEF. So if you have what it takes, get those trainers on now and starting limbering up.

Royal parks in London
Starting off in Hyde Park, the half marathon goes through St James's Park, Green Park and Kensington Gardens, before heading back to Hyde Park for the finish. Runners will be able to take in the fantastic views that each of the Royal Parks provides with vistas including famous landmarks like Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Marble Arch and the Royal Albert Hall.

Get running
Aiming to raise millions of pounds to support the various charities, the Royal Parks half marathon also has plenty to offer the non runners. Even if pounding the parks of London over 13.1 miles is not your thing, you can still contribute to the event by donating to the charities or sponsoring a runner.

Food and fitness festival
And on the day of the half marathon itself, there will be a full on food and fitness festival in Hyde Park. Sponsored by Brakes with a fantastic farmers' market, the festival will have exhibitions, demonstrations and most importantly food, for all to enjoy as the race and the day progresses. You can also try our various different sports such as tennis and football, or if you don't feel like getting up to much simply have a massage instead.

The Royal Parks half marathon takes place on Sunday 11th October 2009. If you would like to register to take part in the half marathon, click on the link below for more information.
