Make the most of the four day weekend created by the royal wedding bank holiday and celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton with an extra day off work.

Prince William and Kate Middleton
Sure to inspire a spark of royalist fervour in even the most ardently republican heart, the royal wedding bank holiday starts off a four day weekend, culminating in the May Day bank holiday on 2nd May. Make the most of the extra day off work and the arrival of spring by watching some of the coverage of the marriage ceremony and the newlyweds' carriage procession back to Buckingham Palace, or take yourself off to enjoy some of the arts, culture, sports and nightlife events London has to offer.

Spring bank holidays
Creating the second four day weekend in a fortnight, the royal wedding bank holiday comes hot on the heels of the Easter bank holidays to give Londoners and workers across the country some much needed respite from the usual routine of the working week. Alongside all the special club nights, parties, and family events to celebrate the royal wedding, there's also a whole weekend dedicated to the event at the Southbank Centre, with music from Billy Bragg.
