Thousands of well wishers from around the world are expected to be out in force to cheer on the official vehicles following the royal wedding route. London spectators can catch glimpse of Kate Middleton on her way Westminster Abbey before the wedding, and after the marriage ceremony the newlyweds are taking part in a carriage procession towards Buckingham Palace.
Wedding of the year
With the 29th April declared a public holiday so that as many people as possible can watch the second in line to the throne marry his bride, the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton is bound to be one of the highlight events of 2011. While millions of people are expected to tune in and watch the day's events on the television, along the royal wedding route London spectators can cheer on the royal couple as they pass by.

Car route
Before the wedding service starts at 11am, Kate Middleton will travel to Westminster Abbey by car from the Goring Hotel in Belgravia. Royal fans wishing to catch sight of the bride before she makes her grand appearance at the cathedral may well be able to see the Rolls-Royce as it travels along the royal wedding route. London landmarks and roads on the route include The Mall, Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and Parliament Square.
Carriage procession
After the wedding at Westminster Abbey, Prince William and his new wife will take part in a carriage procession back to Buckingham Palace before attending a reception with the Queen and a private dinner hosted by Prince Charles. The processional royal wedding route London spectators can follow runs from Westminster Abbey to Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade and The Mall before ending at Buckingham Palace.
Wedding carriages
The newlyweds will be travelling in the 1902 State Landau used by the Prince and Princess of Wales after their wedding in 1981, although in the event of wet weather the ornate Glass Coach will be used instead. A total of five horse drawn carriages will for the procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, at a parade that is expected to finish around 12.30pm.
After the procession
After the carriage procession arrives at Buckingham Palace, the bride and groom will join the Queen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to wave to the crowds. There will also be a Royal Air Force fly-past and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight to mark the day.
