Free modern art for all
Are you a big fan of modern and contemporary art? Then you will be cheering the new Saatchi Gallery opening in London as the building will not only host cutting edge shows of leading artwork, but will also feature a space for the Saatchi online artists to promote and sell their own work, meaning you can see stunning work for free, and buy some to take home too if you like.

Opening show
The inaugural exhibition due to open on the day of the Saatchi Gallery opening is The Revolution Continues: New Art from China. Bringing together 24 of China's leading artists in a cutting edge collection of recent painting, sculpture and installation, the exhibition looks at the dynamic growth of China's artworld, and is a fantastic start to the new gallery's programme.

Art from China
The Revolution Continues features some of the hottest contemporary artists working in China currently, with the likes of Zhang Dali, Zeng Fanzhu and Wang Guangyi all featuring in the opening exhibition. With unusual subjects such as a donkey impaled on building, sculptures of aged world leaders in automated wheelchairs, classical busts with pitchforks through their heads and a cityscape made from dog chews, there is plenty to get you thinking.

Famous artists
Saatchi is renowned for his ability to spot amazing contemporary artists and was one of the curators responsible for highlighting the likes of Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin in the Sensation exhibition of the 1990s. With spaces packed with stunning contemporary art and regular exhibitions of work from the best artists and most unusual artists in the world, the new Saatchi Gallery will no doubt soon become a staple of art fans in London over the months to come.

The new Saatchi Gallery opening takes place on Thursday 9th October 2008. Entry into the gallery is free of charge.
