NO STARS AT ALL well i booked this venue for a 30th bday party-what a mistake. first of all the pic on the web site is not the room you get-you actually get the tatty room upstairs.
paid a oner for this and also hired my own dj's so expected this to be a top night
well it would have been if half my guests had been let in! the bouncer on the door had a stinkin attitude and not only did he turn half my guest away (private party anyone?) the rest he tried charge a tenner in!
i had at least 25 calls the next day from invited guest who had come quite a way for my party askin
A,why they could not get in or
B,why i was charging a tenner...............
sorry to all of you but like i said the bouncer had a stinkin attitude and the manager (who was lovely when he took my money)
was an ars****e.
never go there again and def would not recommend havin a private party there
DO NOT GO TO THIS VENUE!
Really over-rated - i think they have their bit of marketing and PR down nicely, nice shiny website, nice branding etc, but its covering the cracks that are evident upon visiting the place. Bouncers with attitude problems (I know thats not new, but these are another level), a £3-5 door entry charge (err its a pub mate!), drinks at non-pub prices, and the cocktail I had in there was up with the worlds worst - why do bars insist on serving them when they cannot serve them properly!!! The crowd was interesting - a mix of bods in suits who had been on the lash since clocking off, urban moody ghetto boys in the corner frowning, a bunch of drunken essex girls who must of get refused entry to elbow rooms, a load of south americans doing tango, and then a normal drinking pints crowd at the bar... well strange...
This place rocks, friendly management and the bar staff are very professional. Great music and a really nice clientele of over 21s so no kids in the place.
Really nicely designed and lots of space to dance the night away. We love the S & C.
The Salmon & Compass is the Best DJ Bar/Club in North London. I've been going to the Salmon & Compass for 4 years and it's always got great music, great people, great staff & lots of cute guys & girls.
Salmon and Compasses surely has to be one of the best music bars in London. Great DJs, great atmosphere. They've just opened a new second room at Salmon and Compasses and I've paid five times the amount to see their guests in other clubs. A truly undiscovered gem!
Don't know what that person is saying! This is by far the best bar in London. Family owned, not corporate owned like most of the style bars in London nowadays. It's a shame more bars don't show such a passion for music and promoting up and coming british artists.
I've heard some excellent DJs and bands play at this place and I think it rocks!
If you want to get back to the times when music felt a little bit more underground and things in general seemed livelier, then this is the place for you! An excellent venue - and not a bad pub either.
The Salmon & Compasses isn't bad for a pub, but remember it is just that - a pub which charges 3 quid entry, not a club so don't get your hopes up if you've seen the website and think, hey that looks cool and go out of your way and travel for miles as we did.
There's a club near you (every town has one) or someone's bedroom where you can hear these and better beats. Went to Up Jump The Boogie last night, music was breakbeat, hip hop, funk and then it went all jungle!
Lots of flat caps, trilbys and DJ groupies. Its a place where you nod your head or tap your foot but no-one was busting moves in there.
It's alright for a couple of drinks and then I would suggest that you move on...like we did.
