Sci Fi London Oktoberfest

Head to the Sci Fi London Oktoberfest for a mid year celebration of everything sci fi in the film world. With three days of sci fi, horror and anime to keep you warm as the nights get longer, the Oktoberfest is the perfect opportunity to catch up on some excellent new films.

Some of the very best sci fi cinema will be up on the big screen during the Oktoberfest weekend, along with various different sci fi themed events. As well as all the special screenings taking place at the Odeon Camden cinema, there's also a night of sci fi cabaret, workshops and two all nighters.

Special screenings to catch
There are always loads of premieres and retrospectives to see at the Sci Fi London film festival, and the Sci Fi London Oktoberfest is no different. Highlights include a screening of the Angels and Airwaves debut, directed by William Eubank, Love, which tells the tale of a lonely spaceman trapped aboard his craft while simultaneously 100 years before, a Civil War soldier makes an extraordinary discovery. Other screenings include Mexico's By Day and By Night, where world population is divided in nocturnal and diurnal; and Another Earth, which tells the story of the discovery of a yet another planet Earth.

Oktoberfest All Nighters
Want to celebrate the dark nights of autumn by staying up till dawn? Two Oktoberfest All Nighters take place on Saturday 8th October so there is bound to be something in the mix that appeals to you. Choose from Anime or MST3k; either way, you can enjoy a a selection of top class fantasy and sci fi films that take you from 11.30pm Saturday night until the early hours of Sunday morning.

Comedy and cabaret
Along with all the top class sci fi flicks on show during the festival, there is also a chance to catch some great live stand up and comedy sci fi themed cabaret. Taking place on Friday 7th October as part of the Sci Fi London Oktoberfest at the Camden Head, the night is hosted by Rob Deb and features live comedy from Bec Hill, Nathanial Metcalfe and Pete Dillon Trenchard, as well as some Darth Vader themed burlesque from Sophia Disgrace.
