If you're looking for a slightly batty way to spend Valentines Day, try the Scratch and Sniff Cinema London night on for size. Hosted by the architectural foodsmiths Bompas and Parr and sponsored by Bulldog Gin, this unique event aims to be a sensory experience like no other.

To accompany the Valentines Day screening of the Peter Greenaway classic The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, the organisers of the Scratch and Sniff Cinema London event will give each audience member a scratch 'n' sniff card impregnated with smells associated with key moments of the film. Eau de rotting meat and dusty books might not be the aromas you generally associate with Valentines Day, but it is definitely a step away from the usual cliches of red roses and chocolates.

Gin cocktails
Also on hand at the Scratch and Sniff Cinema London event will be a specially designed Agape cocktail with Bulldog Gin and Dragon Eye, a famed aphrodisiac. Hostesses with cigarette trays and a surprise Valentines day menu will also be on offer to ass some extra fizz to the evening.

The Scratch and Sniff Cinema London screenings start at 5.30pm amd 9pm, Saturday 14th February 2009. Tickets cost £10.00 and can be booked by clicking on the link below.
