Search Hackney

Get your treasure hunter's cap on and take part in the Search Hackney event in order to discover the location of a secret party during the Cultural Olympiad Open Weekend.

Hackney Search Party
Inspired by the annual Ma Langue au Chat treasure hunt in Paris, Search Hackney is one of three events taking place in London for Search Party, one of the flagship events for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Open Weekend. The treasure hunt moving around a 1.5 mile route around Hackney and following clues set by art galleries, bakers, historians and others.

Urban playground
Transforming East London into an interactive urban playground, Search Hackney will have you decoding street signs, learning music hall songs inside a secret theatre and even herding sheep in order to collect clues. 150 volunteers will line the three routes of the Search Party event in order to lead - or perhaps mislead - the public.

The party's the prize
Each clue solved during the Search Hackney treasure hunt reveals a further part of the address for a secret party. Once you've solved the puzzle, you can head along to the party for gourmet food, exclusive cocktails, swing dancing and hands on cookery with Jamie's Ministry of Food.

Search Hackney takes place as part of Search Party on Saturday 23rd July 2011. The starting point is Netil House. The event is free, but you mush register in advance at the link below. A limited number of spaces are also available on the day from 2pm.
