You may have heard of Shoot London, but Shoot Londinium takes a different and more historical look at the city. Part of the Open Rehearsal weekend that allows Londoners behind the scenes of some of the capitals most famous museums and institutions, Shoot Londinium is your chance to capture the Museum of London on camera in the style of Roman London.
A photographic treasure hunt with a difference, Shoot Londinium invites kids and families, and groups of friends to dechiper clues and take creative photos both inside and outside the Museum. Taking the opportunity to see London through the eyes of its Roman inhabitants, the day will also prove to be great fun for those with a love of photography and history.
The Shoot Londinium competition allows you to explore Roman Londinium and help the Museum of London create a photo album of ancient Romans in modern day London. With Roman re-enactors on hand to help you out, and the chance to see the 2,000 year old remains of a Roman gate, there is plenty to inspire you with your photographs.
Once you have finished your historical photo shoot and submitted your pictures at the end of the day, a slideshow of everyone's work and award ceremony for the best images will take place. The winner of the Shoot Londinium competition will be announced, and prizes will be awarded to the best entries.
While the photos are being judged however, you will be invited to step back in time once again and see unusual objects from Roman London that are not normally on display at the Museum of London. Curators will tell you all about the strange objects as you enjoy this one off opportunity to take a peak backstage, before you head back to the 21st century and the competition results.

The Museum of London recommends that two cameras are used - one to take photos to keep, and the other to hand in, as only one photo per clue is allowed, and other images must be deleted.
