Get your Christmas shopping done in one easy move at the weekend as the Shop West End VIP day returns to Oxford Street and its surrounds. For one weekend both Oxford Street and Regent Street will be traffic free to allow shoppers the safety and comfort of the best pedestrianised shopping area in town.

Shop West End VIP Day 2011
Last year a huge number of people took advantage of the lack of buses, cars and taxis on the street and indulged in a day of festive entertainment and shopping. Now the Shop West End VIP day is back for Christmas 2011 with both Oxford Street and Regent Street getting in on the act over a whole weekend.

Christmas shopping
The traffic free shopping day is set to once again provide Londoners with the chance to get their presents and gifts from some of the biggest and best stores in London, without fear of getting chased down by couriers or stepping backwards and nearly getting run over by a bus. With live performances from street theatres and entertainment to brighten up the day, you can expect the Shop West End VIP day to be even more fun.

Car free
A special day for all VIPs in London (Very Important Pedestrians), the day should provide some much needed calm for anyone in need of lots of presents. Without the hassle of having to avoid the smoke and fumes coming from the traffic, you can be sure that the experience of Christmas shopping in the West End will be much more appealing without the motorbikes, cars, scooters, cyclists, buses and taxis getting in your way.

Get in quick
The second weekend of December is always the time when you realise that Christmas is fast approaching, and with only a few shopping days left after the Shop West End VIP day, surely it's best to get most of it out of the way at the weekend to leave the rest of the month free for festive fun.

Street entertainment
The Traffic Free Shopping Day is just one of the special shopping and entertainment events taking place in the West End in the run up to Christmas, with the ongoing Christmas light displays and specially decorated shop windows providing another big attraction to the crowds throughout the festive period. There's plenty of treats in store for kids on the VIP day, as well as a Christmas carol marathon and shopping offers and special promotions.

The Shop West End VIP day takes place from Saturday 10th December - Sunday 11th December 2011. Oxford Street and Regent Street will be closed to traffic throughout.

The traffic free days run from 11am - 6pm on Saturday and 12pm - 5pm on Sunday.
