To recapture the spirit in which they were originally shown, the silent films at Prince Charles Cinema are accompanied by live music to heighten all the drama and action on screen. Each month, a talented musician provides the live soundtrack to the mimes on screen by playing the piano throughout the film.

World cinema
Showcasing some of the best films from the earliest years of the cinematic era, the silent films at Prince Charles Cinema include features from the USA, Soviet Russia, France, Germany and the UK. Expect to see a host of legendary stars on the silver screen, including Buster Keaton, Lon Chaney, Charlie Chaplin, Clara Bow and Igor Ilyinsky.

Future films
Upcoming screenings of silent films at Prince Charles Cinema include the iconic Lon Chaney film The Phantom of the Opera.
