Simcha on the Square is a special day of celebration for all Londoners taking place at Trafalgar Square this September. Open to all ages, races, religions and backgrounds the event is set to enjoy a day of Jewish music, live performance, food and activities which celebrate the Jewish word Simcha, meaning joy or party.

A chance for every Jewish Londoner to enjoy their own cultural heritage in the heart of the city, the Simcha on the Square will also be a great opportunity for people of other cultures and religions to appreciate them too. With international as well as community performers, the day is set to be even bigger and better than last years event.

Wedding party music, Klezmer, Jewish fusion and Jewish dance music will all be on the playlist giving you the chance to enjoy a range of special performances. Celebrating all aspects of Jewish dance and song, the Simcha on the Square will also feature choir singing and special dancing, such as the Horah. Take the opportunity to learn some new steps or put on your dancing shoes and join in!

Highlights for this year's special Jewish party are the Klezmer super group, the Klezmatics who will be headlining the live music stage. Playing their exciting fusion of Yiddish and contemporary music, the New York based band will be playing alongside a whole host of the UK's best Jewish music and dance ensembles. Joining the performance will be Joglaresa and their exotic medieval Judeo Spanish music, Gregori Schechter and his rhythm infused klezmer, Max Pashm and his infectious dance beats, and plenty pf youth choirs, dance troupes and wedding bands.

For those with a yen for the specialities of Jewish art, the Jewish stalls selling arts, crafts, books and music will feature high on the to do list, whilst others who are not au fait with the culture can learn something new and appreciate the fantastic artistic heritage of the religion. Plus, exhibitions and children's activities will also be keep you entertained at Simcha on the Square, with loads to see and do all afternoon.

A chance for all Jews in London to come together to enjoy their cultural heritage and for every other culture and religion in the city to appreciate the cultural diversity of our capital, the Simcha on the Square is set to be an amazing day out for all involved.
