Catch all the classics from Ol' Blue Eyes with the Sinatra Film Season the BFI cinema. Having appeared in around 50 films during his career, the film seaon Sinatra, the Voice on Screen takes a look at some of his best and defining cinematic moments.

Covering 25 years from the forties upwards, Frank Sinatra starred in an array of films that garnered him even more fans than his singing did alone. Having hit a rocky period in the fifties, it was the world of film that brought him back to the centre of attention and made him the come back kid for real.

Showing all angles of his character and ability to perform in hugely varied roles, the Sinatra Film Season takes you from the gay and gaudy to the hard hitting and tough. In High Society Frank Sinatra sings along with Bing Crosby, and in The Detective he deals with the hitherto taboo subject of homosexuality.

Showing twelve of his films, including This is Sinatra! which is a live recording of his concert at the Royal Festival Hall, the Frank Sinatra Film Season is on at the BFI until the 29th May 2008.
