Get ready for the roller disco of the summer with Skate Almighty, London! Taking over Potters Field with four days of seriously great roller disco music, Skate Almighty takes you back to the good old days of the Seventies.
Skate your troubles away
The Nokia Skate Almighty London event is relaunching the roller disco for the 21st century with a new look and a brand new sound. Part of the Nokia Comes with Music campaign, the cool music skating festival celebrates the UK's love of music with some great headliners providing the entertainment for everyone to skate to.
DJ sets and live music
Hitting the decks and making Skate Almighty London the biggest and best roller skating event are a host of live performers and DJs. Calvin Harris is just one of the stars providing skaters with the best soundtrack around to skate to, and is playing the decks on the night of Thursday 6th August. Other hot acts will be making Potters Field rock over the four nights.
Music highlights
This year's event features live performances and DJ sets from stars such as Little Boots, Calvin Harris and The Rakes, as Skate Almighty invites London to pull on its skates and get groovy on the disco dance floor in August 2009. The Holloways, Raygun, and The Pipettes will also be providing plenty of pop, rock, hip hop, electronica and classic anthems as the basis for a fabulous event in Potters Field.
Kids and families welcome
Even if you are too young to remember roller disco for the first time, there's no reason why you can't get into the Seventies swing of things. Open for kids and family throughout the day from 12pm - 6pm, Skate Almighty London then becomes a serious night time event after 6pm for everyone wanting to show off their skills on their skates.
Free tickets
All you need to do to get your groove on the Skate Almighty dance floor is log onto the Nokia Skate Almighty website and get yourself a free ticket and a one hour skate slot. Tickets will be sent out to your mobile phone, meaning skaters simply need to swipe their phones to gain access to the skating rink.
The Skate Almighty London event runs from Thursday 6th August - Sunday 9th August 2009. Opening hours are 12pm - 10pm daily, with the area reserved for adults from 6pm onwards. For more information and to register for you free tickets, click on the link below.
