Slow Food Market
Slow Food London is hosting the Slow Food Market at London's Southbank Centre and will be introducing loads of foodie loving shoppers to the Slow Food way of life. The belief is that the way most people in the 21st century eat food is wrong and that they need to change their habits and lifestyle to improve the quality of their food and the quality of their life too.

Ethical, sustainable and tasty too
Everything on sale at the Christmas Slow Food Market London event is based on the principle that it tastes good and is produced in a clean, safe way that does not harm the environment. Sustainably produced, good for animal welfare and our health, and fair trade, the Slow Food way is not just about eating right, it is about eating ethically and caring for our world as well as maintaining the planet.

Christmas food
Intrigued? This is one market where you can take home a variety of fantastic produce safe in the knowledge that everything has been done to ensure that the quality of the food is not compromised in its production. The Slow Food Market is a perfect opportunity to stock up on some lovely items for your Christmas table, or buy delicious produce for your foodie loving friends and family.

Southbank Centre market
Local produce and the freshest and most delicious samples to taste and tempt you will certainly make for a great start to your weekend. Get your hands on some quality meats and cheeses, as well as seasonal fare and artisan produce which will all be on sale at the Slow Food Market in the Southbank Centre Square.

Gourmet food for the festive season
The next market takes place just in time for Christmas, so alongside all the British fare you can snap up delicious food from around the world and learn more about Christmas Caribbean desserts and festive vegetarian alternatives. Inside the demonstration tent you can also find a butchery masterclass, sample Christmas canapes and mulled wine, and get some top entertaining tips.

The Slow Food Market is open from Saturday 19th December - Tuesday 22nd December 2009. Opening hours are 11am - 8pm Saturday, Monday and Tuesday and 11am - 6pm Sunday. Admission is free.
