Feeling all French this summer? Try out the new snail menu at Cafe Rouge which is being held to celebrate National Escargot Day on 24th May 2008. A whole menu dedicated to France's national delicacy will be served up between the 19th May and 1st June to encourage the Brits to give the molluscs a go on their dinner plate. Try a traditional favourite of snails in righ garlic butter, or go for a more adventurous take with melted goat's cheese or perhaps snails served with spinach and mushroom.

Each dish on the snail menu at Cafe Rouge comes accompanied by a basket of French bread and glass of chilled Sauvignon Blanc - c'est magnifique!

Saturday 24th may is National Escargot Day and staff at the Wellington Street branch in Covent Garden will be hiding snails around the venue for hungry visitors to find. Not real snails, but terracotta snails that represent prizes like bottles of French fizz and plenty of other foodie delights from Cafe Rouge.
