I went there last night to see a friend perform. Never in my life have I had such a bad experience of bar staff. Before I even touched my drink a lady accidently knocked one over and the guy behind the bar was trying to make me pay for it still. I and the women asked for a manager and the guy behind the bar refused to get him saying that the manager was “too busy”. Then I just wanted to get out of there and asked for my card back. I had not touched my drinks and still he refused to give me my card back! I will never go back to a place where the bar staff are so RUDE and BULLY customers out of their money!
I had booked a table for dinner and drinks on Saturday 11th October at the Soho Revue for Wham Bam. When we turned up we were told that they didn’t have a table for us even though our names were on the list and they had a record of me booking the table a few weeks before. The lady we spoke to told us to go to the bar while she tried to find out what had happened.
After we bought a round of drinks she came back and just shrugged her shoulders and said "You could sit behind the DJ but you wont be able to see anything" There was no offer of complementary drinks or even our money back (the £40 i paid when booking the tickets and table) and then walked off. We were left gobsmacked, and really appalled by the standard of service at the Revue bar. Not only had they ruined our night but they were rude to go with it. We didn’t stay and I wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone.
Loved this place because of the look its like beautifully decorated theatre, but its a club. The club gets really busy so you need to arrive early I saw this from long line of people trying to get in. The music is fab the guys are ...... well lets just say I wish I was single when I went there. Not sure what the other girl was talking about the staff were brilliant easy to talk to but firm which made me feel quite secure. As for drinks this plac eis really cheap, probably why I got so drunk. I even met Richard Blackwood or should I say Richard Cutie, what a night. I'm 32 years of age but still love to get down with a mixture of people, I'm not into golden oldies or teeny bobbers. Soho Revue bar gave me what I needed which was a nice venue, great music, affordable drinks and plenty of Eye candy. My male friends needed glasses from all the staring they got up to, I guess that means the girls are okay too. I give this place the thumbs up if you want uncomplicated fun in a sexy and very different venue. Oh it is hard to find so make sure you check the promoters website as they have a handy map you can print. Id better start getting ready for another night out in 2 weeks, as they say good things are worth waiting for.
I went to Revue Bar this Saturday. I have to say this was the worst place I have ever been to. First off all when we arrived our table wasn't ready, the manager was very rude,.... after all when we went downstairs some girl hit my friend on the face without no reason...When we ask for the manager they said to us there is no manager at this time !!!! very irresponsible but when the police come down and I ask them for the Accident Report Book they didn't have any. That was the most irresponsible place I have ever went to. Service was really bad, crowd rude, and definitely not safe !!!!
I went to House Party last Saturday and the club is outstanding and I mean outstanding, I went there in search of an exclusive looking club with great music, sexy people but a good and friendly vibe. Why I did not know about this club before now I don’t know as it’s the best looking club I’ve been to for years. The drinks and bar area are like being in an upmarket theatre or studio, the music is on two floors with funky house RnB and wicked Old Skool. As a lady myself I was glad I dressed up as the girls in here really make an effort. If I have one complaint it would be that the club gets busy really quickly. Oh and as a warning you need to book a booth or table to feel special there, the booths are free as long as you book them early. Trust me you need to be on one, anyone who is anyone has a table!
I went to The Wam Bam Club at the Soho Revue Bar on 24th Feb. Can I just say it was a fantastic night.
The standard of the entertainment was top notch. The acts were high quality and jam packed into the night so you get real value for money. I have not laughed so much in years. A very unusual but fun night out for all.
This night is a monthly on the last Sunday of the month, its just a shame it is not more frequent.
A good night out for a group of friends wanting something a bit different. Had a real mix of comedy, burlesque acts and even a magic act.
Will definitly come again.
I have been to the Soho Revue Bar five times in the past couple of months. It's a great looking place, the entertainment is fantastic (especially the Scarlett Fever nights), and the bartenders really know their stuff.
The only problem is that they have the worst service I have ever experienced! Most of the wait staff don't seem to speak or understand English very well; they constantly bring the wrong food and the wrong drinks and then act offended when you tell them (politely) that they have made a mistake. Service is also painfully slow - it takes an average of half an hour to get a drink (and then you usually have to send it back because they bring you the wrong one).
Also, whenever we have purchased their meal deal, at least 4 or 5 out of the dozen items on the menu are always unavailable, even if you get there early. My advice: eat someplace else (there are plenty of good restaurants nearby), and order your drinks directly from the bartenders.
The Soho Revue Bar is such a great venue - it's been legendary for years but I can't remember the old name of the place. Anyway, its new incarnation as the Soho Revue Bar is fantastic - very stylish with some quality entertainment.
