Make the most of a series of free gigs taking place around the East End at the Song EAST festival events. Part of the EAST festival's celebration of all things East London, the free gigs cover everything from African inspired blues to psychedelic folk.

Free East End gigs
Featuring three talented singers performing live for free, Song EAST takes place at a series of intimate venues around the East End. See the likes of Muntu Valdo, Alasdair Roberts and Anni Rossi perform live on stage at venues such as Rough Trade East, Cafe Oto, and Theatre Royal Stratford East.

Live Music
Blues inspired musician Muntu Valdo is one of three performers at the Song EAST gigs, giving live music lovers the chance to hear his mix of traditional African music and modern techniques first hand. Other musicians performing live include psychedelic folk singer Alasdair Roberts, and Chicago vocalist and violist player Anni Rossi.

7pm, Monday 8th March Marie Lloyd Bar at Hackney Empire
8pm, Tuesday 9th March Song EAST runs from Wednesday 3rd March - Tuesday 9th March 2010. Admission to all gigs is free.
