Part of the Southbank Centre's Festival of Britain 60th anniversary celebrations, the South Bank funfair promises plenty of retro fun for all ages over the spring and summer of 2011.

Fairground rides
With a number of classic fairground rides and vintage funfair attractions such as Austin cars, a carousel and helter skelter, the South Bank funfair is bound to be a popular destination for kids and families. The pop up funfair is just one of the outdoor attractions set up outside the Southbank Centre to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the landmark Festival of Britain in 1951.

Vintage kicks
Alongside the South Bank funfair, visitors can also visit a series of themed lands outside the Southbank Centre over the spring and summer. Visit the 70 metre long urban beach with artist commissioned beach huts along Queen's Walk, see the homage to the British countryside including the giant straw fox, enjoy a spot of al fresco eating and drinking at one of the weekly markets or listen to live music at the new bandstand on Southbank Centre Square.

As well as all the outside events such as the South Bank funfair, a number of special events are taking place across the huge Southbank Centre complex for the 60th anniversary celebrations. Take part in a vintage festival, enjoy a weekend of comedy and music curated by Stewart Lee, take part in a sherry tasting with Heston Blumenthal and party over the long royal wedding bank holiday weekend with Billy Bragg.
