The Spitalfields Festival returns to London this summer in a diverse showcase of classical and contemporary music. Live music fans can enjoy a slice of culture in Shoreditch and Spitalfields at a perennially popular festival.

Classical sounds at the Spitalfields Festival
A string of classical performances will be taking place in the Spitalfields Festival, presenting a line up of exclusive live acts in East London. Highlights from this year’s programme include The Silk String Quartet with their Chinese and Western claassical mix and a closing performance by the Royal Academy of Music Sinfonia and Stephen Hough.

Three decades of classical music
Now in its 32nd year the Spitalfields Festival has become established as one of the biggest events on the classical music calendar. Fans can expect world class renditions of classic pieces in a vibrant festival atmosphere, held at venues throughout Shoreditch and Spitalfields.

New music in the Spitalfields Festival
In addition to classical a selection of contemporary pieces will also feature in the Spitalfields Festival. Highlights include a special concert and UK premiere from Rodin Shchedrin of The Sealed Angel. Choral music also features heavily in the 2008 programme, with choirs from Gonville and Caius College Cambridge, and King's College London on the bill.
