Taking over the Bishops Square Amphitheatre in September 2009, the Spitalfields Jazz Festival sees out summer in style with a series of live music concerts.

Spitalfields Summer Stew 2009
Called the Spitalfields Summer Stew, the Spitalfields Jazz Festival features free concerts from musicians such as Arun Ghosh, Ordesa, Chris Biscoe, Ben Davis, and the Orphy Robinson Quartet. Curated by Mercury Prize nominee Mark Holub of Led Bib, the festival showcases some of the rising stars of the UK jazz scene.

Free concerts
Starting on Saturday 26th September, the Spitalfields Jazz Festival begins its celebration of UK jazz talent with a live performance by Arun Ghosh, who fuses jazz with elements of hip hop, classical and folk Indian music, rock and pop. The following day sees the likes of Billy Jenkins and the Blues Collective and sax and guitar trio Ordesa. The festival comes to a close with a rare, improvised collaboration between Led Bib, Polar Bear and Pinski Zoo.

12.30pm - 3.30pm: Billy Jenkins and the Blues Collective
1.45pm - 2.30pm: Ordesa
2.45pm - 3.30pm: Mustard Pie (collaboration with Led Bib, Polar Bear and Pinski Zoo)

The Spitalfields Jazz Festival runs from 12.30pm - 3.30pm, Saturday 26th September - Sunday 27th September 2009. The festival takes place in the Bishops Square Amphitheatre, Brushfield Street. Admission is free.
