The Spitalfields Sculpture Prize exhibition is taking place in the heart of Spitalfields as the public decide on which sculpture should take pride of place in Bishop Square. With eight artists through to the shortlist and voting ending in early February, there's not much time to see the exhibition and make your decision.

Spitalfields Sculpture Prize
An exhibition of work from eight different artists is on show in the foyer of Allen and Overy featuring the best of the 2010 Spitalfields Sculpture Prize exhibition contenders. Having created scale models of their proposed artworks, the maquettes are now on show to the public, allowing them to consider which they would prefer to take centre stage in Spitalfields from October 2010 onwards.

Artistic endeavour
A unique prize that asks artists to respond the site around them and create a sculpture in response to it, the Spitalfields Sculpture Prize is fabulous chance for any artists to have their work installed in a hugely prominent public space. Destined to be seen by more than 70,000 people a week, this could be the springboard for an as yet unestablished sculptor to hit the bigtime.

Work on show
Eight different sculptures are on show at the Spitalfields Sculpture Prize exhibition representing the eight different visions for the public sculpture. Varying in their themes from the technological to the historic, the artworks all have Spitalfields as their reference point. Wenqin Chen's stack of red eggs represents the vibrance of the area, Paul Friedlander has created a futuristic take on the gate to the city, while Tod Hanson has been inspired by the link with the textiles industry to create a tailor's dummy made from bricks.

Who will you choose?
As the winner of the Spitalfields Sculpture Prize exhibition will have their work positioned in the centre of Spitalfields itself, its is only right that the public get their say. Take a trip to the Allen and Overy building before the 7th February and you can vote in person for your favourite. Will your favourite be the Oscar Wilde inspired pile of rubble, the hand sculpted Scapegoat or the semi transparent woven metal sheets? Make your voice heard and vote for your favourite. Alternatively, you can vote online by clicking on the link below.
