The Olympics is all very well, and 2012 is bound to be a great laugh, but don't you long for the days of the wheel barrow, the egg and spoon and the chance to tie yourself to your best mate and stumble down a grassy track for the best three legged race ever? Well, those days of longing are over as the Sports Day at Clapham Common brings back all the best bits from your school sports day and this time it's just for adults.

With jumpers for goalposts five a side football, old favourite the sack race and giant board games, the sports day will be a whole heap of retro fun in the truly old school style. Competitors in the Sports Day at Clapham Common can take part in all the sports and relive the days of plimsols and itchy gym shorts. Team sports will also be on the cards, with referees on hand to overrule any pushing and shoving.

Fancy learning some new games too? Games lessons will be on hand from experts in skills like diablo, poi and good old keepy uppy. After you have tired yourself out from all the fun and games, you can take a stroll around the park and pick up some school tuck from the farmers markets and a range of stalls selling delicious fresh produce.

Open to everyone, the sports day at Clapham Common is your chance to shine. If you were the one that dropped their egg in July 1981 or were kept back from winning the 100 metre dash by the bigger boys, this is the time to triumph on the sports field.
