Take part in a week of lunar themed events and activities at the Spring Moonwatch at the National Maritime Museum. The Royal Observatory at Greenwich is celebrating the International Year of Astronomy with a series of events throughout 2009, including a special week of moon watching from Monday 30th March - Sunday 5th April.

Spring Moonwatch at National Maritime Museum
Celebrate the start of spring by taking a closer look at the moon at the Spring Moonwatch at the National Maritime Museum. The Royal Observatory's 28 inch refracting telescope - the largest of its kind in Britian - will be trained on the lunar lanscape and open for viewing by the public during the afternoons, so with the help of the Royal Observatory astronomers you will be able to make out the moon's mountains and craters in detail.

The Spring Moonwatch at the National Maritime Museum runs from Monday 30th March - Sunday 5th April 2009. Opening times vary according to the daily rising and setting of the moon: for further details on opening times, click on the link below.
