Celebrate St Georges Day at Trafalgar Square with a delicious selection of British cuisines. With the traditional atmosphere of an English fete in the springtime and plenty of live entertainment too, there will be loads of fun to be had and goodies to try.

The theme for the festivities during St Georges Day at Tragalgar Square is Food, Glorious Food, taken from the infectious sing a long song of the Oliver Twist musical. A complete food lovers delight, the celebrations include a large performance stage with a banquet table, and over sized tableware.

The Greenwich Dance Agencey will be presenting an alternative cabaret show throhgout the day with performances from New Art Club, Simeon Weedall, and Edinburgh Festival favourites, Kit and the Widow. In the afteroon, Trafalgar Square will be treated to shows from the Whalley Range All Stars in Compost Mentis, Hoodwink Theatre in Gastronomic, the Natural Theatre Company's Literary Greengrocers, and the Splott Brother's mobile cafe, providing plenty of entertainment for all.

All the street theatre is set to be themed around the subject of food, and the cabaret features culinary motifs too, making the whole day one big feast of St Georges Day entertainment. Traditional English theatre mixes it up with dance and street performance, and there is sure to be something for everyone to celebrate the national day.

For those that want to eat the food rather than see a dance about it, never fear, there will be food and all things delicious as far as the eye can see. The world famous Borough Market is setting up stall in Trafalgar Square for the day and inviting visitors to sample its well renowned wares. With all manner of culinary delights, you will be spoilt for choice and certainly go home with a full tummy, if not bulging shopping bags too.

Oysters and shellfish from Wrights of Cornwall, Melton Mowbray pies and Cornish pasties, Chegworth Valley apple juice, Neal's Yard Dairy cheese, Farmer Sharp's lamb from Herwick and Ceylon 1 London's finest teas are just some of the wonderful, tasty things you can get hold off at the market. Proving that English fare is some of the best and tastiest in the world, the market for St Georges Day at Trafalgar Square is the only place to do your shopping on 23rd April.

Entertainment on the stage for St Georges Day at Trafalgar Square takes place from 12pm to 2pm, and from 5pm to 7pm. The street theatre takes place from 12pm to 7pm, and Borough Market will be in residence all day.
