There's a double bill to the Trafalgar Square concert for St Georges Day, with the first half featuring live performances from young musicians and school groups. There's also music from the winners of the Busking Underground competition, with a rich and varied line up of live acts taking to the stage. A complete music lovers delight, the celebrations take place on a large performance stage.

The free concert for St Georges Day 2011 coincides with the end of the Rhythm of London festival, which aims to foster a new generation of musical talent in London.

West End traditions
Drawing on the songs and traditions of the West End, the second half of the concert is bound to be one of the highlights of the 2011 St Georges Day entertainment in central London. Expect popular songs from musical theatre performed by West End stars as well as students from the Royal Academy of Music to celebrate the national day. Music stars Newton Faulkner and Alfie Boe will also be performing live at the event.

You can expect to hear plenty of popular and easily recognisable songs at the St Georges Day concert. Audience participation will be actively encouraged, so prepare for a proper, London style old English knees up at the mass sing along.
