Join in with all the festive singing for Christmas 2008 with a full month of St Martin in the Fields Christmas carols services.

Advent to Christmas Day
Right from the end of November to Christmas Day itself, there are several Christmas carols services and concerts to enjoy. Whether you are a regular carol concert fan or have never been to a festive celebration at a church in your life, the St Martin in the Fields Christmas carols will get you in the mood for Christmas 2008.

All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise stated.

5.30pm Sunday 30th November
Advent Sunday kicks off the Christmas carols season at St Martin in the Fields, and the offical church choir will be in residence to make you feel the festive spirit. As this is a free and popular carol service, you are advised to arrive early to guarantee a seat.

2.30pm & 5.30pm Sunday 7th December
The second Sunday in Advent sees the Salvation Army Carol Service take place at 2.30pm, with traditional songs for everyone to enjoy. The Blessing of the Crib service then takes place in Trafalgar Square at 5.20pm, as the torch lit procession from the church takes you into the square with music from the Salvation Army Band and the Choir of St Martin in the Fields.

6.30pm Sunday 14th December
Taking up the theme of the text There is no Rose of Such Virtue, the third Sunday in Advent sees an evening full of festive words and music.

6.30pm Tuesday 16th December
Community carols are the theme of the evening as the Christmas story is told through carols and readings by those who live and work around Trafalgar Square. As this is a free and popular carol service, you are advised to arrive early to guarantee a seat. Doors open at 5.30pm

6.30pm Sunday 21st December
A traditional Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols ends the Advent Sunday Christmas carols services with the story of the birth of Jesus told with readings and music. Mixing traditional carols and songs from the choir, this promises to be a uplifting carol service on the last Sunday before Christmas. As this is a free and popular carol service, you are advised to arrive early to guarantee a seat. Doors open at 5.30pm.

Christmas Eve
2.30pm sees the Crib Family Service which is always popular with kids and family. The Blessing of the Crib accompanys a lively selection of readings and carols. The Parish Carol Service takes place at 6.30pm with a candlelit service and Christmas carols for all to enjoy. As this is a free and popular carol service, you are advised to arrive early to guarantee a seat. Doors open at 5.30pm. Midnight Mass takes you right up to Christmas Day itself with a service from 11.30pm. The Christmas Candle is lit and the Mozart's Mass in C major will be played live.

Christmas Day
Spend the big day itself in one of London's most famous churches as the Eucharist is read at 10.30am, and in the afternoon a very special service is conducted in Mandarin and Catonese at 2.15pm.
