Head to Trafalgar Square for the St Patricks Day world record attempt on 16th March and join 1100 Patricks all in the name of raising money for charity.

Is your name Patrick? Or Padraig, Paddy, Pat or Patricia? Then get yourself and your ID down to the gathering of 1100 Patricks for a Proud 2 B Pat event like no other. Organised by Irwin's bakeries that make Rankin Irish Selection Breads, the St Patricks Day world record attempt is an event that will hopefully see the biggest gathering of single name people in one space in the world.

Back in 2005 1096 Mohammeds got together to set the original world record, and now over the St Patricks Day weekend 2008, Patricks and Patricias can do the same and raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital while they are at it. With the biggest show of Paddy power on the day of St Patrick's parade in London, you can be sure that all the Patricks in the city will be out in force.

For every Pat that turns up to take part in the St Patricks Day world record attempt, Irwin's bakery will make a donation to the Great Ormond Street Hospital. Raising awareness of the charities important work and contributing what will hopefully be a substantial amount of money to their cause, this is a St Patricks day event like no other.

Feeling like you want to take part but your name's not Patrick? Fear not - the kind people at the UK Deed Poll Service will let you change your name to Patrick or Patricia for one day so that you can join in with the St Patricks Day world record attempt. Simply turn up and become Pat on the day, or pre-register online and get sponsored for your 24 hours of Patrickness. All proceeds from the name change will also go towards Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Even if you don't want to change your name, you can still donate to the cause and take in the fantastic atmopshere of the St Patricks Day world record attempt. Held on the same day as all the major St Patricks London events, this is a fabulous way to round off a day of fun in the city.

For more information on the St Patricks Day world record attempt or to change your name by deed poll for the day, click on the link below. Please note that you must be over 16 to change your name for the day.

To prove that your name is originally Patrick or to change your name for the day, you must bring your passport or birth certificate with you. Sponsorship donations to the Proud 2 B Pat cause can be made online on or the 1100 Patricks at Trafalgar Square meeting on Saturday 16th March.
