Trekkers and Trekkies are set to unite for one of the most anticapated films of 2009 at the Star Trek at BFI IMAX film screenings.

Directed by J.J Abrams and starring Chris Pine as a young James T. Kirk, the special screenings of Star Trek at BFI IMAX will allow fans to see the movie in the state of the art, 477 seat cinema and Waterloo landmark. With a cinema screen that is 20 metres high and 26 metres wide, you're unlikely to miss any of the action as the USS Enterprise flies through space at warp speed.

The story
Following the space adventures of a young Kirk, Spock, Scotty, McCoy, and Uhura, the screenings of Star Trek at BFI IMAX have been digitally remastered for clean and crisp images and sounds on the big, big screen. Regardless of whether you're a die-hard fan or a newcomer to the world of Star Trek, there's bound to be plenty of talk surrounding this new take on this popular science fiction franchise, so if you want to see what all the fuss is about yourself, book your tickets to see the film after it goes on general release from Thursday 7th May 2009.

The screenings of Star Trek at BFI IMAX run from Thursday 7th May - Thursday 4th June 2009. Standard adult tickets cost £13.50. Please note that Star Trek is rated 12A.
