Story of London at Museum of London Docklands

All things east will be celebrated at the Story of London at Museum of London Dockland events, part of a city wide festival focusing on the history of the city and its people.

Story of London at Museum of London Docklands
With film screenings, talks on the Victorian slums of the East End, guided walks of the local area and more, the Story of London at Museum of London Docklands events aim to bring East London's past back to life. Touching on characters such as pearly kings and queens, suffragettes, and immigrants to the London Docks, the series of events tie into the city wide festival of London's history throughout June 2009.

Rockford's Rock Opera
The Story of London at Museum of London Docklands events culminate in the family friendly Rockford's Rock Opera, from 12pm - 4pm on Sunday 28th June 2009. Organised by the Open University in London, the ecological adventure for kids and adults gives everyone the chance to meet some of London's extinct creatures, listen to poetry by Matt Harvey, and get stuck in with a range of hands on activities. The event is free to attend.

The Story of London at Museum of London Docklands events run thoughout June 2009. Admission charges vary, althought the standard annual ticket for adults is £5.00 (children under 16 go free). For the full programme of events, click on the link below.
