I dont want to give a bad review, cos I feel the place is average. The bar staff are extremely friendly and fun loving. The people I met there were great. The only thing was I went out tonight on 'Halloween' it was really quiet and not really inkeeping with the Halloween theme. The drinks are mega expensive. £6.40 for a double vodka and coke, which is average probably again for London prices, but still... I enjoyed the Hog roast which was great! £5 again kinda on the steep side.
I would recommend this place on an average night. But I was looking for something on the theme of halloween, something popy like Michael Jackson 'Thriller', Timewarp stuff like that, and what I got was Swing bands from the 30's. Having said that a lot of the customers and all the staff members made the effort to dress up. I think most likely the poor turn out was due to the change of schedule. As originally you had to get a paid ticket, but when it changed to free entry, people probs didnt know what was going on.
I would come here again at a lunchtime for food, but it's not nightout material really.

Just read the view review and I must say I'm disappointed with it. The language used is not really inviting (gritty, grimy...)

I do realize that she wanted to portray a "cool" east London vibe but I think that if you want to say something positive then use positive words.

As for my opinion I think the Strongroom is great. The staff are friendly and you feel like one of the family when you become a regular like I am.

I have had many meals there and they have all been fantastic.

Apart from being affordable the lunch menu changes daily so I have a different option everyday which is great when you work in the area and all the other restaurants offer the same thing day in and day out.

The burgers are homemade and taste wonderful, and as for the saltimbocca all I can say that it is not a "poor slab of meat"(see View review) but a juicy sirloin steak.

Whoever did the review should have their "review licence" revoked. All I have left to say is pop in and see for yourself. You might just see me there.

This is probably the worst bar experience i've ever had. The most incompetent management and a terrible service makes this place one of the places you feel more sorry for than everything else.THIS BAR IS NOT RECOMMENDED!

It would be nice to know if this was relating to a specific incident...and if so - what?!

Although the Strongroom Bar and Restaurant has a good range of beers, I found the staff to be unfriendly and a little distant. Maybe it's a language thing - but they were not as helpful as they could have been. The food was okay, but nothing special. I don't think I will bother with Strongroom Bar and Restaurant again.

Have had some good times at The Strongroom Bar and Restaurant, it's a pretty lively place. The food's good and the service friendly.

But it can get quite noisy in The Strongroom Bar, so this isn't the place for that quiet, romantic meal.

The Strongroom Bar is next door to the Strongroom studios. The bar is decked out with lots of wrought iron, hanging drapes and fairy lights. Early in the week they have a jukebox which blasts out anything from the Neil Diamond to Led Zeppelin.

Later in the week local DJs and bands take to the stage. The Strongroom bar has got an urban chic feel to it.

If you want a different experience I recommend a night out at Strongroom Bar. Attached to a music studio, it does have really good music and you get music types making use of the bar. The crowd at Strongroom Bar is remarkably unpretencious. It has a relaxing atmosphere with lots of sofas and the decor is a mix of red drapes, wrought iron and mosiacs.
