See the whole world from the banks of the Thames with the summer events at London Eye, where a series of specially themed weekends will be bringing the South Bank to life.
Summer events at London Eye
While your family might be one of the many across the UK who will be making the most of London over the summer holidays instead of travelling abroad, that doesn't mean you have to give up on experiencing a splash of exoticism and foreign glamour. The summer events at London Eye will be bringing some of the world's most visited locations to central London, and will celebrate the customs and cultures of such far flung places as Rio de Janeiro, Mumbai and Hollywood.
Let the world come to you
Starting on Friday 24th July when visitors can soak up the sights of Paris and all things French, the summer events at London Eye will feature live performances and music to entertain the crowds taking a trip on the iconic observation wheel. Later themed weekends in the programme will have Bollywood dancers, and carnival drummers to evoke the spirit of Brazil.
Activities for the kids
As well as all the vibrant live performances on offer, children can join in on all the fun by getting their face painted. Henna tattoos and hair braiding will also be available, and there are family to prizes such as tickets to the London Aquarium and Madame Tussauds to be won.
Flights on the London Eye
As well as the standard admission tickets for a turn on the London Eye, there are a number of differently themed flights availble over the summer staycation, such as the Pimm's Flight and Champagne Flight. A number of packages combining a flight on the London Eye and a cruise on the River Thames are also available.
London Thames Cruise with Lunch and London Eye
The internationally themed summer events at London Eye run from Friday 24th July - Tuesday 1st September 2009. Flights are availble from 10am - 9pm in June and September, and 10am - 9.30pm in July and August.
Tickets for a standard flight on the London Eye cost £17.00 for adults and £8.50 for children aged 4 - 15. Children under 4 go free. Adult tickets for a Champagne Flight are £35.00, while a Pimm's Flight costs £30.00 per person. For more information, call 0870 5000 6000.
