For 2011, a special exhibition will accompany the opening of the State Rooms, which takes a look at the collection of Royal Faberge ornaments. Truly a sight for sore eyes, this summer opening of Buckingham Palace demonstrates sheer splendour the likes of which you will never have seen before.
Pomp and ceremony
With the annual opening of the State Rooms, this year's show gives you the chance to get up close and personal with a very impressive collection of exquisitely designed eggs, boxes and ornaments, which have all been collected by various royal family members, including the current monarch. Entitled Royal Faberge, the exhibition at Buckingham Palace reveals the extraordinary talents of the Russian goldsmith, Carl Faberge and how his name became synonymous with the finest royal collection of in the world.
Much more to see
