Every year the National Gallery chooses a painting to inspire children at primary schools across the country to make their own own work based on the chosen picture.

The challenge the school children face is to use the image imaginatively in their work, both as a stimulus for artwork and other cross curricular areas. The Take One Picture painting for 2008 is An Autumn Landscape with a View of Het Steen in the Early Morning by Peter Paul Rubens. The exhibition shows a selection of childrens work produced at schools all over the UK.

New for 2008, some highlights of the Take One Picture exhibition include puppet theatre made by children of different ages working together, animations by five and six year olds, exploring the effects of pollution on the environment, and a model of the imagined interior of Reuben's house.
