Talent Spot at Somerset House Ice Rink

Young skaters are being invited to show off on the ice with the talent spot at Somerset House ice rink this winter. Giving anyone under the age of 18 the chance to perform in front of the ice skating crowds at the spectacular Somerset House ice rink, the talent spotting competition is attempting to seek out the next Torvill and Dean.

Skating under the glamorous Tiffany Christmas tree, the talent spot at Somerset House ice rink will see some of the best and most talented young skaters out to impress with just three minutes of skating. Performing in front of an expert judging panel, the skaters will have to win over the likes of Danii Hunt-Goldie, a former British synchronised skating champion and the head instructor of teh Lee Valley Ice Centre.

The talent spot sessions take place every Sunday morning thrughout December and January, with a winners showcase presenting the spectacular ice skating talent in a one off show on Sunday 25th January 2009. Given the number of ice rinks all over London this winter, you can be sure that there will be plenty of hot skating talent showing up for the talent spot at Somerset House ice rink over the competition period.

Skate at Somerset House is one of the most popular of all the London ice rinks, and not only gives you the chance to skate from morning till night under one of the most impressive facades, but also offers the chance to learn and improve your skills with the skate school. Thousands of young skaters have been inspired by the Patron Jayne Torvill to learn to skate, and now the talent spot at Somerset House ice rink will see just what they can do.

Entries are free must be in the form of a three minute DVD or weblink. The deadline for entries is Friday 28th November 2008. if you are successful, you will be notified by Friday 5th December 2008.

The talent spot sessions take place at 9am on Sunday 7th December, Sunday 14th December, Sunday 21s December 2008, Sunday 11th January and Sunday 18th January, with the winners showcase on Sunday 25th January 2009.
