Talent tickets are now available for a new version of Victoria Wood’s hilarious musical, as the legendary stand up gets behind the scenes to direct performances at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Talent tickets will enable theatre fans to enjoy an updated version of the musical that catapulted Victoria Wood into superstardom, promising all the comedy that made it such a huge hit back in the late seventies.

Those fortunate enough to get their hands on Talent tickets will be able to enjoy a hilarious tale that sees Bunter’s Nightclub talent show contestant Julie and her rotund friend Maureen preparing to go on stage amidst other equally high quality acts. The talent show acts as a backdrop as an amusing look into mediocrity and the death of youthful dreams unfold via the medium of song and whole play’s worth of hilarious dialogue.

Victoria Wood directs
After having written the original play herself, Victoria Wood steps off the stage to direct this new version of Talent, showcasing her considerable behind the scenes skills whilst she’s at it. Since Talent first made her into a star, Victoria Wood has been one of the UK’s most recognisable comedy faces, starring in Dinnerladies and Acorn Antiques as well as enjoying considerable success on the stand up circuit, and this production of Talent will take her back to where it all began.

Menier Chocolate Factory
This new production of the Talent musical will take place at the Menier Chocolate factory, one of London’s most famous and important theatres. Famed for showcasing some of the best up and coming plays and musicals, the Menier Chocolate Factory has catapulted the likes of La Cage Aux Folles and a Little Night Music into the West End, and this production of Talent looks set to be every bit as successful.
