Summer of dance
Make the most of the summer weather and get up close and personal to your dancing partner at the tango marathon at Spitalfields Market. Part of the Big Dance festival which sees dancing performances and workshops popping up across London, the tango events at Spitalfields are free to attend, and open to both seasoned pros and absolute beginners.

Live performances
Even if you've got two left feet and no natural rhythm, there's still plenty of fun to be had at the tango marathon at Spitalfields. Live performances from international dancers such as Lionel Wriz and Lia Jeker from Basel and Jean-Michel Cirba and Eve Shahshahani from Paris are bound to make for a compelling, fiery spectacle at the open air event.

Dance class
During the 12 hour tango marathon at Spitalfields Market, there's the chance to join an Argentine Tango class where you can learn new steps and routines. The free beginners class starts at 12.30pm, and introduces you to the world of the ocho, media luna, molinete and cadencias.

The 12 hour tango marathon at Spitalfields Market takes place from 10am - 10pm, Saturday 10th July 2010. Admission is free. The marathon takes place in the covered area on Crispin Place.
