Creating a mini fiesta in London, the Regent Street Taste of Spain returns this year for a series of Spanish evenings. With flamenco dancers and special tasting evenings in the quarters restaurants and bars, Londoners can get a real taste of Spain as they sample local delicacies and enjoy the vibrant and carnivalesque atmosphere.

A whole host of venues will be taking part in the celebrations of the Spanish food festival once more, offering a taste of Spanish regional dance, music and food. All the different regions will all be represented in the fiesta, with food and arts coming to the centre of London to showcase the very best that Spain has to offer.

Kicking off the festival with an amazing world record breaking attempt, on 25th May 2008 a Taste of Spain hosts the largest Sevillianas dance from Andalucia. This unique dancing event is sure to bring in the crowds and get the festival off to a flying start with passionate dancing and flamboyant colours. Not only does this amazing event launch the Taste of Spain festival, it also features as a lead up to the Big Dance which takes place later on in the year.

You can not only catch the amazing sight of all these dancers attempting to get into the record books, you can join in too! Three bands from Andalucia will be providing music at some basic dance lessons to get everyone in the mood and in step, so there is no excuse not to put on your dancing shoes for Taste of Spain 2008.

Entertainment throughout the Taste of Spain festival comes in the form of flamenco dancers and Spanish guitar music, which can be enjoyed as you dine out on delicious authentic Spanish cuisine. Two whole weekes of Spanish celebration see performances from all over the country, and with the brilliant Carnival Queens and the spectacular parade of girls and boys in carnival costumes in 2007, you can expect even more amazing sights and sounds to come to the surrounds of Regent Street and Heddon Street for a Taste of Spain 2008.

Fishworks Cafe on Swallow Street will be serving a delicious selection of Spanish fare including Gazpacho shot with oyster served with San Leon Sherry and baby octopus salad with paprika served with Xarel-Lo. A fantastic range of Spanish cheeses will also be available.

The record breaking attempt took place from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday 25th May 20008 in Regent Street. The Taste of Spain festival continues until the 8th June 2008 in various venues around London.
