Tasting Menus at El Pirata Detapas

Westbourne Grove’s acclaimed tapas restaurant, El Pirata Detapas, is offering diners the chance to have a taste of regional Spanish specialties with three tasting menus this summer. The menus feature regional specialties of Navarra, Catalana and Vasca and each costs £20 per person for ten different dishes.

A taste of Navarra
July is dedicated to the Spanish region of Navarra, and has been created to mark the Navarra region’s San Fermin Festival, more commonly known as the running of the bulls in Pamplona. The menu features dishes such as piquillo pepper croquettes and piquillo peppers filled with oxtail stew, sure to get you fired up for a potential encounter with a herd of angry bulls.

Catalan and Basque cooking
The second of the tasting menus at El Pirata Detapas is dedicated to the Catalan region, with interesting dishes including pig trotter carpaccio with truffle oil and spinach with pine nut and prune croquettes. The regional menus conclude with the final month dedicated to the cuisine of Basque, such as red kidney bean stew and black pudding and cuttlefish and black rice.

The Spanish regional tasting menus at El Pirata Detapas are available from 1st July 2009 – 30th September 2009. Each tasting menu costs £20 per person and must be ordered by a minimum of two people per table.
