Thames Bridges Bike Ride

Thames Bridges Bike Ride

When

Sunday 13th May 2012

Where

Along the Thames

Get on your bike and pedal along and over the Thames in May at the Thames Bridges Bike Ride. The now famous the bike ride has three different routes for 2012, all of them crossing London bridges to raise money for The Stroke Association.

Thames Bridges Bike Ride
Starting in central London and travelling across some of the city's most beautiful towpaths, the Thames Bridges Bike Ride has three separate starting points but all eventually end in Hurst Park, near Hampton Court. The routes take you over some of London's most iconic and well known bridges, including Tower Bridge, London Bridge, Southwark Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and Putney Bridge.

All for a good cause
If you're enjoying the beautiful weather of late and are looking forward to the summer, then the Thames Bridges Bike Ride is the perfect excuse to get outdoors and take in all the fresh air and nature along the river. All the sponsorship money raise will go towards helping to prevent strokes and support the 250,000 people in the UK who are living with the aftereffects of a stroke, you know all the hard work on the day will be worth it.

Entertainment in Hurst Park
Don't just head home after you finish your cycle along the banks and bridges of the Thames - there'll be plenty of live entertainment in Hurst Park after the bicycle ride finishes. There'll be live music, caterers and a beer tent for you to enjoy will all your friends, family, and other cyclists.

How to register
The ride is bound to be popular when it comes around again in May 2012, so make sure that you sign up sooner rather than later if you want to take part in the bike ride around the Thames. There's the 8 mile family ride which starts on Ham Common, the standard 33 mile route which crosses over 16 bridges from its starting point in Southwark Park, or the extended 50 mile route for experienced riders, which also starts in Southwark Park before taking a detour around Regents Park and Hyde Park.

The Thames Bridges Bike Ride takes place on Sunday 13th May 2012. Registration fees are £15.00 - £25.00 for adults and £10.00 - £12.00 for the under 16s. For more information on how to enter, click on the link below.
