Thames Festival Fireworks

A grand finale to the end of the Thames Festival, fireworks will light up the sky in one last spectacular event. An extraordinary display of the most amazing fireworks, the sky above the Thames will be lit up with beautiful lights to symbolise the end of the festivities. A frenzy of colour and light will cover the Thames, making for a brilliant show over the city skyline.

Wishing the Thames Festival a happy 15th birthday, you can finish off your festival celebrations by watching this brilliant fireworks display. Taking place directly after the illuminated night carnival, the Thames Festival fireworks bring the weekend of special events to a close.

Fireworks as an art form
Fired from barges on the Thames between Blackfriars and Waterloo Bridge, the Thames Festival fireworks display aims to elevate pyrotechnics into an art form. Expect a massive show of colour, light, shapes and noise as over a ton of explosives are fired across a half kilometre stretch of the river in the space of ten minutes.

With nearly half a million people people attending the Thames Festival last year, this year can only see more visitors attending for the 15th anniversary of this great free festival. Food, music, dance, street art, live performances, arts and crafts and kids activities make this one last huzzah before the end of the summer.

The Thames Festival fireworks can best be viewed from the Victoria Embankment, Waterloo Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge. The display takes place from 9.45pm - 10pm, Sunday 11th September 2011.
