It's a Dalston (East London) style bar, need I say more. If you work in media or your a creative type you'll love this place. People who wear suits to work should avoid this bar as you will not fit in.

Quirky little place - blink and you'll miss it! It's in amongst the residential area of Stockwell not really know for it's pubs, but this is a real gem. They are open until 2am on Friday/Saturdays and serve good quality comfort food (i.e. chips & cheese!!) until close. There's also free comedy on Monday/Tuesdays and bands on Friday/Saturdays.

Walking into this pub was like entering an Aladdin’s Cave of my childhood. Behind the bar were a load of toys, including an original Ultimate Warrior action figure and a Timmy mallet mallet. "Oh wow looks like we have a Royal Family fan" I thought, spotting a picture of the queen’s mother, until I realised ALL the photoframes had pictures of the queens mother in them! This might make the pub sound dreadfully ‘scene’ but it wasn’t. It was all offset by a shabby chic of big comfy leather sofas and a roaring open fire.

Coming down straight after work I was ravenous, but luckily they also did food –just like my nanna used to make. It was pure comfort food, like being a kid again. I went for chicken nuggest, chips and beans. Admittedly it’s not the sort of thing I’d want to eat every day but it’s perfect for a rainy Tuesday evening.

After my dinner it was time for the comedy – into the most unexpected moment of my night. The back room was kitted out like an actual theatre – all with a low life speak easy vibe. The comedy wasn’t half bad either – the night had a really good atmosphere.

After the gig I ended up staying for another drink – and another! The bar staff were so friendly – and the rag tag gang of locals I got chatting to were the coolest bunch of randoms I met all year – I swear that wasn't because of all the rum I drank!

The only negatives I could point out was the location. I got lost about three times on my way down from Stockwell tube station. But I guess there’s not really a lot you can do about that is there? Also, the drinks, although standard London prices were not the cheapest but maybe that means that I should drink less in the future!

The best find of 2012 – I shall definitely be coming back here again (if I can find it that is!

Stumbled across this little gem of a pub a few months back. Always loads going on the back performance room; comedy and new bands. There's a great little local market once a month. The pub is dead cosy with a relaxed atmosphere, and great for groups or just popping in for a pint and a natter with the very friendly staff. It's off the beaten track but only a few mins walk from Stockwell tube and loads of bus routes on South Lambeth Road or Wandsworth Road. Decent selection of beers and good basic pub grub. Worth a visit on a Tues evening for the Pub Organist!

Probably the best grass roots live entertainment available for free in south London. The bar is eclectic for certain, but the staff are all very friendly and you get the sense they like working there as they are polite and happy to chat and converse with you like a human being not a walking wallet.

The live facilities for bands and comedy etc are excellent with a separate 70/80 seater room with full sound and lighting rigs and an actual stage!

Comedy Virgin's their regular weekly comedy night on Monday/Tuesday is a real gem.

Fair enough it's not in the most wonderful part of London but I've never had any issue on my way to the station - well worth a visit.
