Engrossing tale
When a rumour by a rebellious schoolgirl spreads in a girls’ boarding school in New England during the 1930s, there are devastating consequences for the two hardworking headmistresses. The play made its debut on Broadway in 1934 and became so much of a success it was made into a film renamed The Loudest Whisper in 1961, starring Shirley MacLaine and the iconic Audrey Hepburn. This year’s West End production is only here until 30th April 2011 so be quick to get your hands on The Children’s Hour tickets.
