The Event at Southwark Park is a huge family day out in South London, with live music, fairground attractions, circus performances, market stalls and a dog show. Children and adults will be out to enjoy the festivities at a vibrant London event.

Fun and festivities at Southwark Park
The Event at Southwark Park promises to be a lively occasion for children and adults alike, featuring a series of vibrant events and activities. The crowds can make the most of traditional fairground rides and attractions before marvelling at performances in a unique, wind and solar powered circus. Expect clean, green fun in the sun.

Rat Pack show
A Las Vegas style show will take place at The Event, featuring a line up of all the best classics from the era of cool. You can expect to hear the likes of Come Fly with Me, Under My Skin, Mr Bojangles, Lady is a Tramp, Mack the Knife and loads more Rat Pack favourites.

Live music at The Event
The Event at Southwark Park includes a programme of live performances on the main stage, featuring headline acts legendary 70s soulsters Heatwave, The Camden Cowboys featuring Madness saxophonist Lee Thompson, Abba tribute band Abba Forever and the Mint Juleps, the UK's top a cappella group. In addition to these live music acts a special performance will be taking place from Mr Wee Willie Harros, one of the original wild men of rock and roll who will be providing you with traditional summer fun.

New for 2008 The Event at Southwrk Park is encouraging you to live a greener, cleaner and healthier lifestyle. All kinds of advice will be on hand from those in the know at the Living Life area, so make sure you spend some time there getting the lowdown on the greener life.

The Event takes place at Southwark Park on Saturday 12th July 2008 from 1pm - 10pm. Entry is free for all.
