Staff very rude! I pointed out to the bar girl that the vodka measures were of different sizes - she said no there not and just walked off...?? Plus everyone looks very young and the vibe feels a bit like a bad, cheap student union but without the cheap drinks.

Been going here for years - methinks most of the reviewers here were kicked out trying to get in to the place on the way home from Wetherspoons.

Always busy, good vibe, good grub and loads of beers including spitfire and all cheaper than most of Shoreditch.

What busy bar do you not have to wait in - unless your idea of a cocktail is a WKD.BTW - last month secretsundaze was great but then i didn't get kicked out!!

This bar is awful. It is a nice set up BUT, the staff are rude and obnoxious. And it is overpriced, Go elsewhere.

I was at a Secret Sundaze party there and the treatment of everyone there was appalling.

Security was rough, rude and unsympathetic, I also found them to be unnecessarily heavy handed I have been secret sundaze before but this place spoiled me and my friends vibe, we ended up leaving.

There are MUCH better places in Shoreditch to go. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

I don’t believe in giving bars who don’t care about their customers any service, it doesn’t make sense.

The bar is too expensive and the staff are RUDE

We went to the Light Bar for drinks on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by the music!

We had originally planned to head off to Cargo, but after listening to a few tracks by the House Amigo DJs, we decided to stay for the whole night.

Nice place, not too busy, great interior and the upstairs terrace. The only thing that really lets the place down is the speed of the barmen.

Downstairs bar was slow, but upstairs' was unbelievably slow. The barmen were taking ages to make the easiest cocktails and seemed to have no experience!

More training for the bar staff, faster service and the place will be great!

By reading the description you would think this place was a sophisticated bar/club which plays an eclectic mix of RnB, Hiphop, Funk and House and doesn't allow trainers. Well you'd be wrong. This place was SKANKY. The clientele was skanky, the club and toilets were skanky and the music was hard house all night. They kept saying another DJ was going to play hiphop, but he didn't. It was very boring, it dragged and it dragged. We ended up going home early. If you love house and a bit of skank than this is the place for you.

A really good find for the City. Its far better than places like Abacus, APT or the many other tacky bars littered around the city. The venue is fantastic, large open spaces, high ceilings and exposed beams give it a NYC feel. The big downer is that downstairs its rediculously busy. The line to the bar was 3 -4 people deep and this was at 8pm on a friday night, also the music is far too loud for the downstairs area. It was impossible to chat and once we discovered there was an upstairs area we had a much better time dancing to the funky house music and drinking Mojitos.
This is definately a good place on a Thursday or Friday if you are sick of Abacus, Digress, Revolutions and all the other boring ''meat markets'' around the city.

Beautiful building with loads of potential, totally ruined by brain-dead, over-zealous door staff, surly bar staff and a lack of decent beer.

I don't know what you're talking about mate, the door staff here were great when I visited. Where else in London can you go to such a nice place and not be hassled for not wearing the right shoes? They need to be quick to act because you get the odd twat in this area, but there's no way they're unfair from what I saw and I've been several times at weekends.

We went to the Light Bar about 5pm on a Friday and our friends that were supposed t to meet us in there, couldn’t get in as there was a huge queue. The staff are absolutely miserable and very slow too, which made the queue at the bar 5/6 people deep.

But the worst thing was I really needed the loo, and there are only 6 cubicles with about 20 ladies waiting. My friend managed to get me in the gents, but the toilet attendant then opened the door with a coin and forced me out, and he didn't even let me get dressed properly. My friend tried to tell the toilet attendant but he didn't listen and by that time I was forced out, with security all around with their headpieces etc. It seems to me that Light Bar would be a great night out if all the mafia style bouncers were replaced with normal staff.

The Light Bar is a fantastic venue - the building is amazing and I think it's shame that not many people I've spoken to know about it. I would highly recommend The Light Bar for a good night out.

The Light does a really great steak, which to me is the sign of a good restaurant! There's a good atmosphere in there too.

I'll definitely go back to The Light in the future.
