3D transformation
One of the best known animated feature films, The Lion King was both popular and hugely successful. During its release the film grossed $783 million and cemented Walt Disney Pictures as the premier animation film company. Now digitally remastered and transformed into 3D, The Lion King 3D at BFI IMAX is not to be missed.

With inspiration taken from Shakespeare's Hamlet, the writers of The Lion King created a masterpiece. The newborn cub of King Musafa is born into a world where conflicting powers are on a collision course making the future uncertain. Musafa's evil brother Scar wants the kingdom all to himself, so he concocts a loathsome plan to rid of the king and his son forever. It is the ultimate battle of good versus bad with a handful of life lessons thrown in for good measure.

Musical genius
As well as an engaging story, The Lion King was very well received for its musical score. Five original songs were written by Elton John and Tim Rice with Elton performing Can You Feel The Love Tonight. Hans Zimmer composed the film's score which was complimented by traditional African and choir music. As a result of this attention to detail the film won two Academy Awards for achievement in music. You can now experience the amazing sound created by seeing The Lion King 3D at BFI IMAX.

Limited showing
As the film's only showing for a limited time, and judging by its previous success, it is predicted that The Lion King 3D screenings at BFI IMAX will be very popular. Therefore, in order to see it for yourself make sure you book as early as possible.

Showing from 22nd October 2011, tickets for The Lion King 3D at BFI IMAX cost £11.00 for a child and £16.00 for an adult.
