If you want views of Trafalgar Square with good food and art thrown in then this is the perfect place to take a date or a colleague.

The Venue
If you want to get the wow factor then this is the place to go. First of all experience the art in the National Gallery then wander upstairs to the first floor and just look at the wonderful views across Trafalgar Square. If you want to impress family, friends, girlfriend/boyfriend, or clients then choose to visit the National Dining Rooms first.

The Atmosphere
A very English atmosphere. You could imagine Kenneth Williams, Richard E Grant, and Peter O’Toole dining here. It’s not stiff upper lip Englishness though, it’s relaxed and informal but a great place to really enjoy the views.

The Food
The National Dining Rooms has two and three course menus for under £30.00. The food is of a high standard and the crunchy rabbit and lemon sole are real favourites. Also opt for the British cheeses if you’ve got room after the great, huge portions.

The Drink
In the bakery area they do one of the best ranges of soft and alcoholic drinks seen in London, including smoothies, fine teas, coffees and juices. The fennel tea is an acquired taste, though, but the Japanese cherry green tea is worth a try after the three course menu. Kids should try the Cheworth rhubarb juice. The National Dining Rooms also does a range of UK beers and ciders, too, like Mash beer, New Forest Farmhouse cider, Meantime Pale Ale, Bitter & Twisted? bitter and the New Forest Farmhouse perry. The wine list is small, but reasonably priced.

The Last Word
The location, view, quality of drinks and food makes this a great place to entertain.
