Absolutely, most utterly shocking experience i have had for a while!
I went in for some late night drinks with a girlfriend, as most bars in Mayfair are closed at two in the morning on a Wednesday.
We were told at the door that its for members only, but then a drunken man on the street shouted "No, its not!" to the door man, and that apparently was his que to let us in.
We had a round of cocktails to start with. They were not done very well, so we just ordered wine after this. Then we ordered a Chinese platter, meant for sharing. I could not believe my eyes when it arrived. It had two prawns on it, two duck rolls and three spring rolls. The spring rolls were about 4-5cm long, 1cm wide. The spring rolls only had about 10% vedgetables inside. Could not believe the value we got for £11,5.
The bar staff were very friendly yet not very skilled (badly done cocktails, not paying attension to details). A very friendly yet totally unprofessional gesture from the barman was when he offered us some candy he had been given earlier on the day for his birthday.
The atmosphere is horrible. The people sitting at the bar all looked like losers who had just lost all their money, or who had been dumped. We had a couple of very drunken guys come up to us and say "Would you like to go for a drink, my place is open?". Another couple of groups of sleezy men approached us in a similar manner. The people in the bar ruin the ambiance completely, even though you can find some of the typical mayfair clientele in the casino.
We wont be returning.
